My older Son is into drawing, and eventually wants to get into animation.
I Love that he Loves it. It's a great creative outlet, and he works on drawing little cartoons every day.
But lately he's been into what are called 'object' animations.
It's this kind of pantheistic, mindless drivel that's all over youtube. It can be a little funny, but mostly it's mindless crap.
But he likes it, and that's fine. He's 11. He'll grow out of it.
But I bring that up to say this.
Lately he's been drawing some of the characters 'infected'.
I asked him why he started doing that, and he explained to me he got the idea from a show called 'learning with Pibby', which is apparently something that comes out of the 'adult swim' production house, and is not for kids.
Anyways, he said it's a 'game', where infected characters are trying to 'infect' other characters that are healthy. Like a rehash of the zombie story. Have you noticed how many zombies shows are out there lately?
Anyways he drew a picture of some of his 'object' people trying to infect other object people.
And I couldn't help but draw the association with AI.
AI is being put into everything. In a sense, to 'animate' them for the fast approaching 'Internet of things' that we are told will be our collective future. Therefore it's only 'logical' to put the AI in everything. Soon, even people they tell us over and over.
Little 'agents' in all the things.
Monitoring, measuring, reporting back to the central AI's that will control the distribution of resources.
Like a virus that infects the whole World.
I'm sure it's nothing.
