Everyone Loves a Great Narrative.
If they’re Powerful enough, they can create a Lifelong fascination, and perhaps even a career path if you do it right, not that there’s any easy way to determine what that even means. The World is full of interesting things that don’t have easy explanations. It’s almost as if taking a step back from your daily routines and incorporating some of those into your World view can become somewhat overwhelming if we add them in without spending a lifetime trying to make sense of more and more components that the layman doesn’t really have a lot if time to think about, and if they do, there’s always more to think about.
Aliens, Pyramids, ancient civilizations, new technologies, old technologies, myths and religious orders, secret societies, and places that aren’t easy to reach nor conceptualize. Unfortunately for this guy, I’m one of the rare few who’ve spent quite a Lot of time thinking about these exact things. I used to fall asleep to Coast to Coast, and Terrence McKenna. I’ve spent my time with Alex Jones and David Icke, and the Zeitgeist Movement, almost from it’s fledgling start, and I’ve read the great lefty thinkers, I’ve listened to their debates, and I’ve heard them give their opinions on Historical events, and modern ones. I’ve done the Ancient Egypt things, and the ancient and modern aliens things, and the what the bleep do we know things, and the big bang and electric universe things, I entertained the flat Earth debates, and the way they connect to weird Christian cults and esoteric/gnostic “secret” knowledge things, and I’ve also done the Elegant Universe things, and most recently, I’ve gotten a lot further into Religious Philosophy things, and realized just how all of these things do in fact in some way contribute to the place and time we find ourselves, and Man it’s a doozy.
But what I’m trying to say is, I’ve heard most of his spiel before, and I’ve come to realize, that while it’s fun, it’s also a distraction, albeit an entertaining one.
Case and Point, this Gentleman is Telling a very Compelling story about Humanity, and Our Origins. It’s really Fun and I’m enjoying his Presentation and points.
Now let me gently poke some holes in it.
Full Disclosure, I have my Own Narrative I’ve been formulating, and I think it’s pretty solid, so it would be helpful if you understood my Premise, and why I’m coming at this conversation through my own lens that sees this one as logically inconsistent, which I fully grant is quite the thing to say given that my own perspective is just as far out as this one, but, I’m happy to defend it, and constantly challenge myself to think about the errors and flaws in my own case description, and Obviously, there are things that simply cannot be “known” to us, so we can only infer logic, given what we can actually fit into that bucket with a degree of “certainty”.
At least for the purposes of what we can actually use to help guide us.
Intelligent Design and the Funnyverse
So I've been Thinking a Lot over the last few years. It would seem that many of us have. Even those who try to Deny it. But “their” “thinking” seems to have taken a much more “tortuous” route, so I don't envy them. Which is Not to say that my own route hasn't been difficult.
But just in case you skip that, here’s my Coles notes bullet points:
We Live in what can only be understood given the way an average person might interpret it, a “Simulation”
That Simulation was set up by an “Intelligent Designer”
That Intelligent Designer, or ID, was itself something that came from a Place I couldn’t Possibly give any answer about, but that’s not the Point. The Point is, that it’s pure information, but even information needs a Reason to Exist, and I believe that there’s no Meaning in Existence without “companionship”, if only for the attached Excitement of not controlling all the things, without which there could be no True “Experience” for neither the Designer, nor the Design, and at the risk of anthropomorphizing this intelligence, of which we are a reflection, but given Independence in the form of “Free Will”, in this World, that sounds kinda boring.
How might the ID go about Creation of a Significant “other”, that wasn’t a threat to itself or the rest of the Creation, and Ultimately, to Existence
Jesus Christ was a Real Manifestation of this ID on Earth, and could manipulate the “code”, like a kind of Neo in the Matrix, without all the Kung Foo training, but he was not the First intervention into the Creation or Simulation by the ID, but as any True scientist knows, you cannot pervert your experiment beyond minor changes in the equation, else you run the risk of tainting the results.
If that sounds confusing, maybe just read the whole thing if you find it to be an interesting hypothesis. But Basically, I’ve given this a little thought is what I’m saying, but I’m always open to being Proven wrong, and up until that moment I’ll entertain any ideas that may go against my hypothesis, and this Man’s story serves well to illustrate some of the more confusing issues currently facing Mankind as a whole, and it really shows how we can create these elaborate stories that spend endless amounts of Energy trying to determine the “truth”, that unfortunately tend to make the fatal error of simply not asking the right questions, like, what kind of “Fruit” does your Tree of “knowledge”, produce, for Humanity as a Whole? Given that we do, want that, do we not?
And it’s not even that this Man’s story necessarily goes against my framework, but in my humble opinion it seems to have certain logical inconsistencies that come out over and over. Sadly, this fellow appears to be a grifter, and he’s Real Good at it, but as with all people who Lie, knowingly or otherwise - and I find this moment in Time to be so confusing I don’t blame people for being misled - the Lies become too much to wrangle in, but they do serve as a good way to create the illusion of knowledge if you’re doing your grift right.
The Fact of the Matter is that the “Truth” should be Easy, and it should feel Natural, and achievable, and, it should serve a greater Purpose, because if it does not, then we might as well all get real nihilistic, because nothing matters but the will to power, and it is that will to power based on trading in secret ideas about Humanity, that appears to drive Men Mad. I’m not suggesting that this Man is mad. Far from it, I find him to be very interesting and compelling, but he’s also not in a position of power. Interesting that the host asks him near the end of the conversation around 1 hour 29 minutes, and point blank “how would you like to be remembered”, and Billy responds with:
“..well, I would like to be remembered is a Pioneer, um, we're all right now you me everyone else you know working like this doing these podcasts and these shows and making memes and going out and speaking to public and writing books and movies and documentaries, we're all a part of the education process to help bring Mankind's memory back, right, we're trying to extrapolate as much information as we can from the past present and the future and put together understanding to help raise consciouses on the planet, and I believe that um, we're planting seeds for trees that are going to grow that we're never going to sit in the shade of these trees, but it's a real comforting fact to know that at some point in the distant future, a lot of the work that I've put out now is going to have an impact 15 20, 30 a 100 Generations from now when there is a golden age and people are celebrating life and living in War free and peace free(oops) and everyone's loving one another you know, uh and that in some way sh perform I might be slightly remembered as one of the many pioneers that help Usher man back towards the Golden Age…”
Well. I mean that’s quite the Messianic framing, isn’t it?
But the thing is, is there any real Truth to the things he’s saying?
Is there ever going to be any way to know?
What kinds of “trees” is he really planting here, and what kind of memory are we trying to “bring back” exactly?
I won’t waste a whole lot of time here to attempt to fully deconstruct this Narrative given that I feel it would have to be done on a point by point basis, and this was a World tour of conspiracy theorizing meeting new age Hermetic gnostic luciferianism, the kinds of which seem to be emerging all throughout the World at this exact moment in Time, and to be fair, with good reason. Humanity has been tossed into a meat grinder for the mind, in some ways intentionally, and I feel in some ways not, but the result is the same. People are hungry for ideas that appeal to them to “save” them, from the turmoil of the current moment. I’ll only say this about his talk for today. Even by his own admission, if we were seeded by “aliens”, and this is the true story of Human Kind, what does that say about us? What does that say about God, and how does that insert new Mystery gods into our Story, and what purpose does that serve when it comes to understanding ourselves? What does that say about subservience, or our place in the Universe? If there are aliens out there who created us, are we simply livestock? Where did they go? What might they Demand if they came back? What does it say about the Nature of our Reality, and what does it say about Free Will? So Many Questions does not help to navigate us through this moment. Not even a Little bit. Oh that and maybe let’s not prop up some ancient religions and orders that had Human sacrifice on the menu, because that seems like it could go badly. That’s just my hot take.
And yet for some reason, “Aliens” seem to be a good fit for many people out there looking for some kind of grounding after years of sustained pressure on their psyche, and the market for this new age Mysticism as I’ve described it gains more ground. I’ve listened now to numerous different people, often from highly technical backgrounds, talk about what this “Life”, really is. Multiple interpretations of a “simulation” or “multiverse” understanding, often echoed in main stream media, including out of Hollywood. Almost everything coming out of the Marvel Universe recently has adopted this World view, not to say that results aren’t at least entertaining. But it’s all “aliens”, all the time. Even the AI World is describing the LLM’s they’re experimenting with as seeming “alien”, and that, with Humans merging with the machines, the so called “bio digital convergence”, perhaps we are just the stepping stone towards a new, “alien” “Life”.
Take the recent appearance of David Grusch on the Joe Rogan Experience. This is the so called “whistleblower” who testified to the United States Congress just a few months ago, in July 26th, 2023. You may have missed it what with everything else happening around the World these days, and who could blame you, but he basically says that the US government and certain corporations are in possession of alien technology and crafts, and “biologicals”, and elements within that arrangement have back “back engineering” some technology, things that would could and should be used for the benefit of “all Mankind”. In fact, here’s a quote:
'It's extremely nuts that humanity as a whole . . . hasn't been benefiting from broad research on this,' he said.
'It could solve propulsion, energy issues, novel material science that can improve people's quality of life.
'It's just totally nuts how it is being protected and prohibits progress.
Grusch has also alleged that the the US is in an arms race with Russia and China to understand the extra-terrestrial life.
Spicy stuff huh? Almost as if the Aliens might be the way to get Humans to all find some way to unite our visions. To get that mile up top down feeling the astronauts get, the so named “Overview Effect”, that sees the Earth and Humanity as a whole, so why squabble about who’s “god” is the “right” one?
But then, Joe went on one of his new age rants, as he’s been known to do from time to time when he suggests that, actually, Christianity is a made up mushroom worshipping cult.
Unfortunately that bucket doesn’t hold water. but don’t take my word for it, listen to this self made psychonaut.
But that’s not where his new age opining stops. He then moves on to his new age new age prediction, that is always and forever connected to the idea that Human Life “Evolved” on Earth, an idea so popular you might get forced out of academia to suggest otherwise. But it follows like this:
First there was a little speck of all matter that contained all material existence within it
it exploded
it got Reeeeally big, and then, it somehow adopted just the right “goldilocks” or “fine tuned” conditions to allow for things like gravity to start pulling some of those heavier materials together, and then they because clouds of dust, and some of those clouds of dust started having a pretty substantial chemical reaction within their cores, and producing “light”, and heat, and centres of gravity so strong they began to spin, and within that spinning there was also other spinning clouds of dust, that didn’t catch on fire, they just created heavy centres of iron ore or something similar, and then dust and water and all manner of things were drawn to them, and this happened all throughout the Universe, and then there was other stuff that happened, and from the depths of those laters of ore and dirt and water and other elements, there came churnings, that produced water spouts, that in some cases produced belches of gas that created on many of those Planets the atmosphere and preconditions necessary for Life
water got hit by lightening that somehow fused together some of those prebiotic elements, and it infused within some of them the ability to create a cell, and somehow “Life” got in there, and that happened on multiple occasions before the cells could deteriorate, and those first cells not only found the first food that must have been in there too, but they also learned how to metabolize (eat) the food, and then they just kinda knew that they would have to begin to reproduce
what was small cells somehow “evolved” into bigger ones
then the bigger ones started “evolving” into other types of stuff for some reason
then there was monkeys
then there was us
we created technology
next we’ll become computer “gods” because of the whole inevitability of the above noted process to create something new out of the old because that “means” something to someone for some reason, and it’s TOTALLY not a religious story replacing other religious stories because “The $cience”
I mean, I’m sure I left out some details, but that’s basically the story. And Joe gets all excited when he starts thinking about how Elon is going to bridge the gap between Humans and “Artificial Intelligence”, even though there’s no real evidence for it yet but there’s shitloads of speculation, and little hints that maybe it’s all going to work, and before you know it we’ll all just switcheroo a couple of genes, because this World view suggest genes are the key to Literally everything even though most of the billions of dollars that have been poured into this initiative have produced results that are tenuous at Best, but no matter, Trust me, you’re gonna be like a real live superhero, and it will be “Easy”, and this is Totally not just raising money for your firm.
But wait…… There’s More!
You see, Joe also starts going past the idea that we’re going to become all clairvoyant because “evolution”, or something, and starts talking about how what’s actually going to happen you see, is we’re going to give birth to super computers that will be capable of creating simulations that are indistinguishable from our current experience, but it will just be in the metaverse or something, and, well you see this is inevitable, but his buddy Elon likes to take this thought exercise out past even that wild speculative “possibility”. and say things like, well, assuming we DO get a hundred years into the future without killing each other, and this exponential increase in technological capabilities continues, well, then thats’s not only a possibility, it’s a Probability, that puts the possibility that we’re living in “base reality”, and are in Fact in a simulation at a rate of like a billion to one. I’m not kidding, that’s what he says. He’s been saying it for years.
In fact I made a little joke about Elon and his ability to be on the forefront of all these cutting edge industries in one of my last stacks.
The Alchemy of "Thought"
I’ve been trying to think this through, as it is this very ability to reason our way through this World that seems to be our greatest Gift within it’s confines and conditions, even if reason does prove to be the most difficult faculty to maintain and nurture. For a more thorough examination of the reason why “reason” alone can actually be a very destruc…
But back to the point. Joe also just Loves to speculate about “aliens”, and how they might laugh about the silly “apes” playing with nuclear weapons, because Humans are just dumb and do dumb things, which, I don’t entirely disagree with when we lead our Lives according to the wrong Principles or even find ourselves in challenging situations, or perhaps even chase the wrong “truths".
Speaking of which, another shameless plug seems in order.
The First Truth
So here we all are, at the mercy of the mob, and the wills of powerful forces that aim to change, not just who we are, but what we are. Do they deserve to be held to account? Should they be held to a higher standard, when they control all the levers of power? Who
But here’s the thing, how could it both be true that we live in a simulation, AND there’s “aliens”, the kind of which are alluded to by David Grusch? Serious question? Did they just sneak into our simulation, or are they simply part of the puzzle that is our simulation? How did we “back engineer” technologies from something that isn’t actually a thing unless it’s part of the programming? I mean I suppose you could make some theoretical wiggle room that says things as they occur can be written into the simulation via “updates” of software updates just like we do with our own currently running software programs, and that means it could be “updated” to be in the “past”, to us who are experiencing the simulation in real time, but really, it happened in the future, but then how did we develop the technology to create the simulation in the first place… So as you can tell, it gets a little messy pretty quick, but it sure is Fun to think about!
In fact I made a joke about this possibility on my “X” account a few weeks back, suggesting that this was a workable hypothesis, given the territory we’re already treading on.
The point being, that if there’s “aliens”, the simulation hypothesis gets a little muddy, and if there’s not aliens, then it’s quite amazing we got this far without some kind of “Intelligent designer”, who preprogrammed, at least in a loose sense, this timeline, for some purpose.
But what would be the fun in having a simulation without using it, for something. It seems like an awful lot of effort that in the Human context, would require an awful lot of engineers working on the coding and creation of such a construct. Not to say that there aren’t people working on this kind of idea, but they appear to have found a “hack” towards achieving this end. Let the robots do it. You see how it would work is this, you “teach” an “AI’, in this case via “large language models”, or LLM’s, to learn to learn. And then that AI, comes up with new ways of creating AI’s that can learn better than they do, by running billions and billions of “tests” on bits of “code”, and then fitting them together to create even larger more comprehensive bits of code, and do so in a fashion that would take human programmers years to accomplish, only it happens in seconds. No “aliens” necessary, unless you mean the “aliens” in the machine.
Interestingly, there’s a Man who’s job it is to think about these kinds of things, and, who has made it his job to look at the “evidence” for “extraterrestrial” Life. But here’s the thing, every tests he’s ever done on “evidence” has shown it to be false cases. So in my mind, that makes it even more interesting he might say something like:
“… do you believe that extraterrestrial intelligence has visited planet Earth?
I think you can go a step further, it hasn't just visited it's been here a long time and it's still here and it has… basically you know people talk about the wow signal looking for extraterrestrial intelligence the wow signal is that people see it on an almost regular basis that's the communication that's already here and and that statement seems so incredible that it it's tough to believe right? People hear that and maybe a lot of people here hear that and they don't believe it…
Source. Highly suggest you go listen to the entire conversation.
But again, why are these people at this high level of the intelligence apparatus trying to convince us of something that we have zero evidence for, right at the exact moment in time where our ability to gauge between what is “real” and what is AI created content is becoming increasingly blurry, and not just a little bit, but the acceleration of this trend has been going parabolic.
Again, don’t take my word for it, watch:
Perhaps that’s not convincing enough for you?
How about this unbelievable interview between Zuck and Lex, IN the metaverse, just a few weeks ago.
So what I’m trying to say is, we’re not in Kansas anymore. This thing IS happening, in real time, right in front of our eyes for anyone who’s paying attention, but what is not happening, even though there’s tremendous efforts on the part of various actors and influencers to make us think otherwise, is there is still zero evidence of “aliens”, but that doesn’t mean that in the very near future, there might not be the possibility to make it seem as if there might be.
And again, it’s not just them, it’s movies, television shows, philosophers, and podcasters, everyone wants us to believe that a handful of trends, many of them unsubstantiated, specifically in this case the “big bang” and “evolution”, and the origin story of “Life”, have all been shown to be true, when that’s simply not the case, but they need it to be to continue “their” narrative, that says the Humans will “evolve” into the machines, and the machines will then “save us” from ourselves, when again, there’s simply no real meat on them bones.
Even in the face of all these incredible advances in technology, I call Bullshit.
I think there’s some kind of moment coming.
I think they’re going to try and convince us that there is in fact aliens, and that we need to somehow “reconceptualize” our place in the Universe.
The one we “created”.
It doesn’t compute.
There are no “aliens”.
So the question then becomes, well, where DID we come from…?
Well. Who knows.
All I know is, I’m not a monkey, and I don’t think you are either.
