I’ll read in the morning, and this is high praise coming from a thinker like yourself Sir. I’m self taught but know a smart man when I hear one.

Enjoying your ‘debate’ with Dr. Tour from five years ago.

I would argue James is indeed arguing for some variety of vitalism, did you guys ever talk about that again and if so did you come to any new territory? I would argue that like gravity, it, the life force, whatever we want to call it, comes from God and is sustained by Him, not that it’s something you could ever possibly test until the day comes.

So there’s faith. And faith allows humanity to operate with a glass half full perspective, so it’s not an ‘empirical’ argument, at least not without metaphysical considerations, like how this changes and influences human flourishing.

It happens in the same way you describe Christian thinkers having an inherent honesty about them.

It’s transcendent Truth, and Jesus is the way, the Truth and the life. The life beyond life. He is the Logos, the foundation stone from which all good reasoning begins. At least that’s what I would humbly offer to help make sense beyond material sense.
